Garden Fresh Bouquets & Pacific Sea Salt

Chelsea Arvesen

Over the weekend we had a dinner party with a few friends that were stopping through on their way down to California. One of my favorite parts of hosting guests is curating a tablespace. I knew I wanted it to be light and fresh with a spring feel. To start, I paired my vintage rose table runner with ice blue chargers and ivory dinnerware as the base for my setting.

At this point, I ran into a dilemma. I didn't want to go to the store to buy flowers and the tulips I bought earlier in the week were leggy and wild, perfect for my kitchen island but not for the dinner table. So I thought, "time to get creative!" I grabbed by sheers and headed into my yard. I came back inside with a handful of mixed lavender, light purple pin cushions, a few fern shoots and a whole bunch of rosemary. Yes, rosemary! The bouquet turned our wild and fragrant, better than I had hoped.

My table was set, centerpiece was complete. Now the final touch, choosing the perfect candle scent. Initially, my first thought was something spring-y like Pineapple Sage but I knew that wouldn’t pair well with my fragrant bouquet. So what goes well with Rosemary? Something clean and subtle, Pacific Sea Salt! One tumbler didn't overpower the room and added the perfect element of fragrance and ambiance. To complete the look I added a few metal geometric elements and tealights and we were ready to enjoy our meal.
