The Bridge Nine Candle Co. Signature Scents
When many people around the country think of the Pacific Northwest (PNW), they picture rain and lush green forests. They aren’t wrong. Of course, they are not entirely correct either. The PNW is a practice in contradictions. It contains multitudes. There are rainforests and snow capped volcanoes. There are treeless desserts and hillsides so uniquely colored we call them the Painted Hills. There are large, modern metropolitan cities, quaint art gallery laiden towns, sprawling native reservations, and rickety, vacant ghost towns.
The variety of the PNW environment inspired a handful of our year round signature scents. From the high desert near Bend to the misty forests surrounding Eugene, inspiration is as prevalent as Portland’s winter rains.
If you visit the high desert in central or eastern Oregon in the spring or early summer you will quickly understand why sage and juniper berry essential oils found their way into our newest year-round scent, High Desert.
During warm days, the dry air heats the juniper and sage before the wind wafts it past your nose. Snow capped peaks from the Three Sisters and Mount Hood surround you. Tumbleweed blows across the highway south of Bend.
There is nothing I’ve ever experienced that is quite like the solitude and softness of a Cascade Forest. Everything is muted or padded by the ferns and moss. And everything is alive – a vibrant green found nowhere else on earth.
When you light the Cascade Forest tumbler, you are instantly walking down a damp forest path after a light rain. The aromas of earth, fir tree, pine, and fern drift through the humid air. Even on warm days, your breath makes cloudy puffs with each exhalation when you’re in a Cascade forest.
It’s the hint of vanilla that makes the warm aroma of NW Cedar so enticing – one of nature’s little lessons on pairing and balance. The stillness of a PNW forest of cedar trees comes through in this scent.
The lavender fields of Oregon are every bit as beautiful as you can imagine. Their purple blooms carpet the otherwise green fields under cascade skies so blue they sparkle. And the mountains look on from under their white caps.
The rows of lavender are literally abuzz with activity. Bees create some of the best tasting honey you’ll ever have when they feed on the lavender flowers.
When you exit the car at the coast, the air is alive with the scent of the ocean. You emerge from the Pacific Coast range to see an endless blue-black ocean stretched beyond your vision. Seagulls call out. Children play on the beach.
Along the rockiest ledges the ocean beats against the land and fills the air with its fresh salty spray. That scent is as timeless as the ocean. It’s there every season, rain or shine. It’s the aroma that inspired the Pacific Sea Salt signature scent.
CANDLE MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY
The following tips and precautions will sustain a happy and safe candle experience: Please allow your Bridge Nine Candle Co candle to burn for approximately 2 hours, or until the wax reaches the edges of the container, the first time you burn it. This will give your candle a good ‘memory’ so that it burns evenly for the remainder of its lifespan.Keep your wick trimmed to 1⁄4” to help prevent smoking and soot build-up. Keep your candle out of direct sunlight. Soy wax has a low melting point and candles will melt in extreme heat and direct sun.
Do not leave a burning candle unattended.
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
