With less than a month until the first day of Spring (March 20th!), I'm starting to get excited about gardening, outdoor activities and freshening up my decor. With the release of the Spring and Summer collection, I thought it would be fun to give you a little insight into the inspiration for each of the scents found in the collection.
STRAWBERRY LEMON
Strawberry Lemon is actually two scents that were previously sold separately; Strawberries & Cream and a limited edition run of Sugared Lemon. While Strawberries & Cream was popular, it was a bit on the sweet side. I've always been a HUGE lemon fan, so combining the two only seemed natural. The result? Luscious strawberry, fresh cream and a kick of zesty lemon to balance it out.
MINT VERBENA
The newest scent to our Spring & Summer Collection, Mint Verbena was a collaboration of ideas from myself and our shop girl, Naomi. Toying with the idea of a mint candle, we tested both the mint verbena combination (garden mint + lemon verbena) and a rosemary mint combination. Ultimately, we couldn't resist the fresh, zesty combo of mint verbena!
LILAC
Our lilac candle was a bit of a personal indulgence for me. Growing up, my parents yard was (and still is!) lined with big, fragrant lilac bushes. The soft, fresh floral will always remind me of those first warm spring days we all long for in winter.
PINEAPPLE SAGE
Did you know Pineapple Sage is actually an herb? A lot of people think this scent is a mix of sage and pineapple but it's actually meant to mimic the herb, Pineapple Sage! Next time you're at your local garden store, look for it, they bloom with a beautiful red flower and vibrant green leaves.
COCONUT LIME
Waves crashing, a light breeze rustling the palms fronds, warm sand tickling your toes, a good book and a frosty beverage with a little umbrella. It's no surprise that Coconut Lime was inspired by the tropical beaches of the Hawaiian Islands. It's like an instant vacation!
